At ChappellRoberts we focus on solving our clients’ business problems, not winning awards. We take pride in great strategy that leads to great creative and powerful distribution. Receiving recognition from our industry for the work we produce with our clients along the way keeps us competitive and humble. For award shows, we get the chance to celebrate our teams, contribute to the ever-rising bar of creativity, and learn along the way.
Among many awards shows, our agency team looks to the annual American Advertising Awards to fuel our creative and competitive spirits – win or lose. There are many talented agencies in the Tampa Bay area and this year we saw some of their best work shine at the 2020 ADDYs. Here’s what we celebrated, looked up to and learned from:
Winning! ChappellRoberts won 10 ADDYs for work that spanned nearly all award categories, such as ambient media to social media and public service (see full list/gallery below). The work we entered in this competition represents some of our agency’s most strategic efforts. We’re way proud of the results delivered – having that work also stand out among our peers for its visceral creative value feels incredible.
Overall, we were impressed with the intrinsic artistic abilities of our local industry. From custom label designs to digital animation, it’s clear that craftsmanship was a winning theme of the evening. As an agency, it was inspiring to see our fellow creative community recognized for the passion we know they put into every detail. We also applaud and appreciate the raw talent of student work – their creativity has a clear energy and vibrancy that will shape the future of our industry.
Beyond the award wins, we walked away with an excitement for key learnings and the chance to explore the execution of some intriguing work. This year, we saw more video than ever. Every category that could have video submitted did. The storytelling in video covered the range of emotions and creative techniques. We saw quirky humor, heartfelt anthropomorphized objects and uplifting tones designed to inspire communities. Spanning the emotional range, these teams brought rich cinematic visuals, obsessive art direction, design detail and compelling writing in every execution. Overall, it’s clear our market is investing in more video production to connect with their audiences.
Throughout our 40-year history, we remain grateful for the opportunity to stay connected to other creatives through organizations like the American Advertising Federation. It is an honor to be in such creative company year after year.
