Big Brothers Big Sisters of America relocated to Tampa in January and chose ChappellRoberts as their agency partner. Getting to work with this incredible client makes me feel so grateful to be making a difference in the lives of so many.
If you don’t know what this amazing organization does, it’s simple: BBBSA matches an adult mentor, known as a “Big Sister” or “Big Brother” with a child who could benefit from another strong adult role model known as a “Little” to form a one-to-one lasting relationship. A Big, for a few hours, a couple of times a month, gives a Little the invaluable gift of friendship and mentorship. Bigs participate in activities with their Littles such as exploring museums, reading books, or even just hanging out with each other; activities that are enjoyed by kids everywhere.
A few weeks ago, my fiancé and I headed to Chuck E. Cheese’s. No – it wasn’t our typical date night restaurant of choice. We went to support BBBSA. In honor of National Volunteer Month, BBBSA and Chuck E. Cheese’s have forged a great partnership honoring Bigs across the country and are helping to raise funds to continue creating Big/Little matches.
In addition, all year long, Bigs, Littles and BBBSA staff will receive a special value deal: 25 tokens, one medium one-topping pizza and two drinks for only $17.99. This is a great incentive to spend time in a safe and fun environment as a volunteer.
For National Volunteer Month, BBBSA and Chuck E. Cheese’s set up several ways for consumers to join in, such as making a $1, $5 or any donation amount at the register to support their local Big Brothers Big Sisters chapter. When we arrived, it was great to see all the pin-ups representing support from the local community. Find out how you can make a “BIG” difference by visiting BBBS.org.
