Small Art, Big Cause

The art might be small, but the cause is HUGE.

Tampa Bay is host to a thriving arts scene and for those of you who don’t know about it, The FIVE by FIVE exhibition is one event you shouldn’t miss. As a Board member of the Arts Council of Hillsborough County, and one of the Committee Chairs for the FIVE by FIVE, I’m excited to report that we are already well into the planning stages for this fall’s event.

This is our third year and we’ve decided to bring in sponsors to help offset costs and to ensure that every dollar raised will go directly to local artists. ChappellRoberts is proud to be the inaugural sponsor of this year’s event.

True to its name, the FIVE by FIVE features 5×5 inch anonymous (meaning the artwork is signed on the back and the artist’s name is revealed upon purchase) artwork made and donated by international and local artists. The evening also includes five-minute performances by professional musicians, actors, poets and dancers. More than 700 pieces of art donated by professional, emerging and student artists are available for $25 each. The artwork includes painting, drawing, etching, wood sculpture, metal sculpture, jewelry, clay, mosaic, glass, metal, photography, fabric, mixed media and more.
