Graduates from the USF Zimmerman School of Advertising and Mass Communications gathered to celebrate the department’s new alumni association, reminiscing about the good ole days, enjoying good drinks and a fun raffle and sharing life post-graduation.
Alumni from all walks of life came to support the inaugural event. Some traveled from far and wide, returning to their collegiate roots. Others drove a short distance from their Tampa homes or offices to reach the event. Some, like me, were recent graduates (#Classof2017!) while other attendees represented classes from the 80s, 90s and early 2000s. What did each alum have in common, you ask?
That’s easy – unbelievable USF pride and passion for our mass communications industry!
Several of our staff at ChappellRoberts has USF to thank for our job connection. Our late founder Deanne Roberts received her bachelor’s degree in mass communications from USF and had a committed love for the local university. Our Vice President Christine Turner gave a touching testimony at the alumni event, commending Roberts for her zeal to help University of South Florida students make the most of their lives and their degrees.
I’m sure I can speak on behalf of my fellow USF/ChappellRoberts colleagues when I say we are so thankful for the opportunities opened up to us by our alma mater and our agency. We’re so much more than alumni. We’re so much more than an agency. We’re a family and we’re proud.
We are excited to see how the USF Mass Communications Alumni Society grows and expands over the years. Go Bulls!
