Not that long ago, I did something that most people in this economy would call “crazy” and quit my job. After six years in the sports and entertainment industry, I decided to put away my backstage pass and venture down a road less traveled into Ybor City to become a member of the ChappellRoberts family. The interview process was kind of like dating…did I wear the right thing? Did I say that right thing? Will they call me back? Then they did…I got the job!
So now what? I know watching Mad Men religiously doesn’t make you an expert on being an Account Executive. I was confident in my experience and skills, but a new environment is terrifying and exciting all at the same time.
I realized something very quickly….there is a reason why ChappellRoberts has been named one of Florida Trend’s “Best Companies to Work For” three years in a row. It wasn’t the staff getting together to watch the World Cup in the conference room, it wasn’t the daily treats in the Bistro and it wasn’t the salsa / guacamole contest—it was the overall culture. Sure, all of these things go into it, but the way my coworkers come together to collaborate and integrate ideas for the clients we have is like something I have never seen. Everyone works together and takes a hands-on creative approach.
Our leadership team embraces the idea of creating a culture of networking within and outside of the CR walls that I believe is the most encouraging part of working here. This is what positions us above all the rest and I am so proud to be a part of it!
I think I can best describe my days with the Mark Twain saying: “The secret of getting ahead is getting started. The secret of getting started is breaking your complex overwhelming tasks into small manageable tasks and then starting on the first one.”
Showing some love to our awesome client and my newest account, 3 Daughters Brewing!
